Sexual Purity

Now I know this topic can be a lil uncomfortable to talk about but it's also a very important one

to discuss as well. When we think of sexual purity,most of us give in to defeat mentally at just the thought of it. Thinking that it's something impossible to achieve this. But is it really impossible or do you just not want to do it?I use to be the same way before I came to Christ. I was a very sexual person,even though I may have not have done it often,I had plenty of thoughts on the subject and was very curious. I thought this task of sexual purity couldn't be achieved because everyone i knew thought the same thing. It was unknown for a young man or woman to deprive themselves sexually. I grew up thinking it was normal to have sex in your teens, that it was part of being a teen. I can even go as far as to say that it was almost as if I was obligated to have sex. Soon after I started reading the word,I found out that all that was a lie!...Think of sex as fire..when fire is contained in a fireplace then it is perfectly safe,but when its on your living room floor,it can spread to something horrifying. It's the same way with sex, sex in marriage is safe and even more enjoyable because God made it to be that way,but when you take it out of marriage then it's spreads and leaves you with regrets and scars. "Food for the stomach and the stomach for the food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality,but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."- 1 Corinthians 6:13. So from this scripture we know that our bodies was not meant for sexual immorality, so therefore it is possible to overcome it. In the bible, God talks about standing firm against sin of all types but when it comes to sexual immorality, He says to FLEE!( 1 Corinthians 6:18). Why does He say to flee you may be wondering? God knows how we work, He knows that we were formed from dust, I mean after all,He is the one who made us! So He knows what its going to take for us to succeed in this type of purity.Whatever is causing us to fall into sexual sin,we must flee from it...hands down. Now I'm not saying its going to be easy but saying it is possible. Sexual purity is a process that in the end will have you coming out victorious and righteous in God's sight.
